Republicans have begun to frame the protests as “hate America rallies,”

I’m probably preaching to the choir here, but exercising your right to protest is one of most patriotic things you can possibly do.

Share that message with anyone you know who needs to hear it.

We sit around and bitch about the corporations caving to the alt-Reich, about Congress people just giving in to Trump, about ICE not having a conscience to do the things they do.

Yet as long as we only sit and bitch, as long as we’re not fighting back in some way, we are also complicit in what our country’s government does.

If you honk your horn to warn people ICE is around, you are protecting them. If you protest the regime, others will see that there’s are others standing up and this is not inevitable. If you call your Congress people, you are telling them what the will of the people is, and that people are watching their actions. You don’t have to do everything, but you should be doing something.

How can you expect corporations to care or Congress people to have a spine, if you won’t even pick up a phone? Courage, and consciences, are contagious.

There was an interview about a year and a half ago, with some Congress person who was asked why they made so many right-leaning votes. They said that, out of every 5 phone calls they received on an issue, 4 of them supported the right and only 1 can would support the left (because the right wing is really good at stirring up their base). While money does talk, so do the people - at least for now.

This coinciding with the government shutdown could increase turnout and really fuck with city operations.

I recall the first trump term’e shutdown ending when protests shut down leguarda airport.

If only the conditions making these protests necessary could have been prevented…

Oh wait, you helped them happen. Enjoy the fake internet points. Can’t wait to see your next agenda.

Edit: Apparently it’s been forgotten that Ozma plastered several communities with articles trashing both Biden and Harris running up to the election.

Edit edit to also remind that while trashing Dem candidates, we got crickets from them about Donnie and friends. It was an obvious agenda that several people recognized at the time. They did it before and they will do it again. Wait for election year.

It’s irrelevant to what OP posted, but you are correct. I remember specifically calling them out over the endless slanted posting against Dems during the election. Never a word against Trump

How about you look back further to the time period we are actually talking about…

They did not mention anything against Trump; in fact they didn’t mention Trump hardly at all. They almost exclusively shit on Biden and Harris which is just as effective as promoting Diaper Don.

Which happens to be exactly what I said.

I think you’re getting down voted because people don’t know from your original comment that you were referring to OP.

But yeah. Fuck these fake leftists who rallied hard against the idea of voting for Harris over Trump, then turn around crying and shivering that their virtue signal boycott surrendered the country to fascism.

If even one person was influenced by the one-sided crap they posted, then they are absolutely responsible for contributing to the result.

I at no time said they alone made anything happen. They were doing their best to contribute to it. Stop taking my comments out of context.

Shit’s never going to change because we keep scheduling protests instead of protesting every day in every way possible. At home, at work; protest everywhere.

This is necessary to get people started out.

Gets them familiar with how protesting needs to be done.

So when shit inevitably gets worse, they and their friends who stayed home last time will be out again and likely for longer too.

You want to move millions of people to fight for freedom? Gotta get them used to the motions first.

Yeah, I’ve been told that on here before. I was born in 1988 and it’s been part of my online persona since I was a young teen. I didn’t know about the HH implication until I started hanging out in more leftist circles on reddit and eventually here

Not necessarily, but it would be ironic if you were a non-native speaking English person living in the US. That would likely indicate that you or your parents are exactly the type of people that Trump and his friends are trying to vilify and make life more difficult for.

Do you truly believe that matters to this regime? That it would matter to ICE officers charged with capturing you?

It’s certainly a comfortable thought to consider yourself “the exception,” but it’s dangerously naive. Racists hardly care if you speak English. Complaining about immigrants not speaking English is an easy target to hit, especially since the people being complained about can’t argue back. That doesn’t mean they like foreigners who speak English. If they wanted to complain about you, they’d just pick some other thing that makes you “different.”

You’re still a foreigner, and there are enough fascists out there who don’t care what else you are.

You trust that the system of governance is immune to corruption and law breaking, that it’s infallible. It very much is, and “oh we lost this time but we’ll beat facism at the next vote” is exactly how they keep getting away with shit. Elections are treated as a blank slate, fresh start, when they are not, even if there is another election and we win we’ll have to fight to restore the rule of law and the systems to a state before all of this.

Would be more useful to protest against policy rather than an elected personality. Interview of the protester going to be fun
