“students would have a 75-word paragraph due every week and it was all AI generated.”
??
Maybe 75 words is too tough for the kids these days. Some lemmy comments are way longer lol
Most aren’t (case in point)
Wise
How hard could it possibly be to generate a seventy-five word paragraph every week? For a college student? People who are literally swimming in texts and papers on a daily basis? I remember being a student, oh, lo, those 35-some-odd years ago now, and fiddling with the text size and the margins to bring my page count DOWN in order to meet guidelines. For something like a set word count, I’d meet it exactly right.
You guys get 75!? I’d probably get something like 300
I say as long as it’s not longer than a Twitter post, which is at most 140 characters, they should be fine.
they’re that lazy, pretty much
Inasmuch as I like that they use the tool for a reasonable use case scenario, the important thing here is the lesson. Society needs things in a certain way to function, and the sooner the kids learn this, the better.
Nothing about this usage is reasonable. It is detrimental in every conceivable way: https://arxiv.org/abs/2506.08872.
