Donald Trump said Friday his administration will take action on Greenland “whether they like it or not,” further escalating his rhetoric as he pushes to acquire the Danish territory for the U.S.

The comments came during a meeting with oil executives to discuss the prospect of doing business in Venezuela. Less than a week earlier, the U.S. military invaded the oil-rich South American nation and captured its leader, Nicolás Maduro.

Denmark and its European allies in NATO – the military alliance co-founded by the U.S. – have pushed back, reiterating that Greenland is not for sale. But the Trump administration nevertheless says it is currently weighing a range of options on Greenland, including utilizing the U.S. military or cutting a deal to purchase it from Denmark.

So quick question, why allow them to keep their military base? They’re clearly hostile, time to pack up and leave.

Either Europe’s politicians are still deluding themselves that the USA could be an ally against Russia, or it’s a case of no one wanting to move first and be the first the USA targets for economic and social destruction.

When tariffs came in, I was hopeful they realised, finally, that they were dealing with a madman. However, they still negotiate as if he’s a rational actor. Express concern etc. Just like the Dems in the USA. He pays no heed to their comments or concerns. He only responds to power.

Tariff the shit out of USA tech. Stop buying USA weapons. Start allowing Ukraine to attack inside Russia. Cut off their supply of precious metals by working with Australia and Denmark (Greenland).

Show them you mean business by reducing tariffs on china in return for Chinese concessions. Start really penalisong any European or American companies that still do business in Russia.

Its mind boggling that they are doing practically nothing concrete.

I’d be looking at their recent declaration about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Cut them where it hurts his chances in the mod terms. Affordability all the way. He’s very much a let them eat cake kind of guy. But with big Macs.

EU politicians did switch to a “don’t feed the troll” stance on Trump. Flattery backfires because he sees that as weak. Taking sudden action works as a provocation in him. Best case they’re waiting him out and preparing quietly in the background.

You’re not wrong but that message needs to come from the leaders of the EU. The fact that it isn’t says as much about your leaders as what you’re saying does about the US.

The EU is a mob boss’ wife (except we also have blood on our hands, we take part of American excursions cause we’re team West), European countries are just vassal states and our so-called leaders are shameless whores. I know, I live here, shit’s sad. And, while we aren’t as culturally primed to worship violence, there are still too many “MAGAs” (white supremacists) over here still.

Please do it, and put out international warrants for his henchmen, especially PeeWee Himmler. They’ll never be able to leave America again. They can spend all their vacations at Dollywood.

Yeah they’ve already got a shit situation, don’t make it worse for them. There have been more and more serious talks about moving the actual federal district to only a few blocks around the Capitol and White House buildings, and for DC to be absorbed into MD or VA, but no one seems to be happy about it. It has more people than 2 other states, yet has no Senators or Reps.

If they had any balls at all, potential Democratic hopefuls for 2028 should be announcing now,

“If Trump takes Greenland or any other country’s land, I’ll give it back immediately if elected.”

"If Trump takes Greenland or any other country’s land, I’ll give it back

That’s not really what happens, from what I’ve observed. I think once a policy has been woven into action, it’s difficult to unpick all of the new dependencies and go backwards without wasting a tremendous amount pf resources. Most of what Trump has been doing is probably here to stay. The Democrats are super neutral on everything. there’s almost nobody pushing to the left.

Trumps whole thing is throwing grenades and leaving others to deal with a fallout. No matter what happens with Greenland he’s irreprably damaged the USs alliances everywhere. The possibility the US is fickle enough to invade an ally and then undo it in 4 years is insane. Any successor to trump that wants to backtrack needs to sort out the rampant unchecked power of the office, not to mention the lack of accountability at so many levels of the government.

This is what makes Putin very happy despite losses in Ukraine and some Russian domestic uncertainty.

He really wants to achieve the impossible, to distinguish himself from Brezhnev: defeat the West without even firing a shot.

I don’t even care if he’s not the president of the United States anymore because he still would be bothering me (and I’m not even American). I just want to never hear from him again. I want him to shut up and be as far away from the public eye as possible.

you can tell within the last few months he has been low on energy and he looks even more like hell. My grandmother passed away in 2008 from a series of multiple strokes with each one she became more and more slower than her brain slowly turned to mush, and she was unable to form a sentence and when she did, she was in her own little world. I see the same thing happening with Trump. Hopefully he is not much time left for him in this world. We can only hope.
