Gothic sorceress: “Hey, Avian Intelligence, what’s the incantation for summoning a fireball?”
AI Parrot: “:sparkle emoji: The correct incantation for a fireball is “IgnisMe”.”
Panel 2: The gothic sorceress cracks a wicked smile, her eyes shining with anticipation as she raises her hands in front of her, fingers spread and ready to cast.
Gothic sorceress: “Alright, let’s give it a shot… IgnisMe!”
Panel(small insert in previous panel): Only the eyes of the gothic sorceress are visible in a large flame.
Gothic sorceress: “?!!”
Panel 3: The gothic sorceress is burnt, her face contorted in a mix of shock, anger, and pain. Flames and smoke dance around her, her dark robes burnt and tattered, revealing exposed parts of her anatomy.
Gothic sorceress: “You #*$%@& bird! You gave me a self-immolation spell instead of a fireball spell!”
Panel 4: As the sorceress facepalms, the Avian Intelligent parrot replies with stoicism.
AI Parrot: “:sparkle emoji: You’re absolutely right! The correct incantation for a fireball is “PyroBolus”.”
You literally cannot convince me this guy doesn’t also draw porn. There’s just something about the art style…

This is how it looks on Voyager
Weird, I’m in Voyager on fast internet and it’s super pixelated for me. Going to the link looks great, but Voyager looks like it’s trying to load a thumbnail as a full size image.
I’m also on Voyager on mobile data that may as well be dial up. It took a minute to load, but came in clear for me.
Pretty sure it’s a jpegxl and, in my case, using brave as my default browser and Voyager as my Lemmy app produced the same thing (a low quality picture). Tracking down the url of the pic in brave yielded the same results, however, the identical url in Firefox yielded the full definition picture. Jpegxl uses the same container .jpg and can serve a lower definition of itself as it loads in full. The rollout for that codec and adoption is happening like right now. So that’s my guess.

Are you sure it’s not slow internet which resulted in the photo to not finish loading?
Gave it plenty of time to load on my gigabit internet.
This one is fine for me, but I’ve had others with the same issue. I assumed it was a quirk in the app I use (Boost).
Click image, Top right click HD. Boost tries to save bandwidth on some images but I haven’t noticed a real trend behind what images it chooses to downscale or not.

Yhea my boost sometimes also seem to make things blurry. Dowloading it does show it is a clear one. But I didn’t had problems with this one

It’s for when you want to be one with the fireball. There is nothing more badass than going out in a literal blaze of glory.
Always check what your AI is telling you. After all, it’s in the name: Avian, bird-brained.
