this is no different than one of our chip designers who says, guess what, I’m just going to use paper and pencil, I don’t think I’m going to need any CAD tools.

Lol, dude thinks chip designers don’t use pen and paper, whenever possible?

“the thing that matters for your company is: is my employee becoming insanely AI-pilled? And that requires getting them on this tokenmaxxing mindset.”

This is gonna be the epitaph of this current bubble.

I’m 109% certain this is just a marketing blitz/astroturfing campaign by LLM companies to show investors that “people are actually using our AI, honestly!”

The manosphere lingo, the header image with the leather jacket and the fake signing of a boob, the self dealing, the pretending they pay all their devs/researchers a lot of money, the who uses the much tokens leaderboard. There is such a high amount of sick desperation in all this.

We were to hard on the previous wave, who like Balmer were just cringe capitalist overlords.

At some point, Anthropic puts up its prices so much the companies try to go back to brain coders. They hand these actual human coders a toxic waste dump of AI slop code that is literally incomprehensible to humans and can’t be fixed in less time than it would take to start over. This does not end well.

Given the slop bots have been actively destroying their users’ coding abilities for the past 2-3 years, finding someone capable of unfucking their codebases will be a bit of a challenge.

The big tech firms have fired tens of thousands of people, and we’re all heading into an economic catastrophe that will only make more people impoverished or jobless. Finding folk who are so desperate for work that they’ll decontaminate your codebase for minimum wage will be straightforward.

Tokens can never fail, they can only be failed - by not tokenmaxxing

Not quite the intersection between tokenmaxxing and violence that I had in mind, but I feel like I’m going to probably toe the line of fedposting a little too closely already on this topic, so I’ll allow it.
