I’ll never not post this amazing SMBC under this:

Got to love anybody who invites you to a private island and tells you you won’t be allowed to leave or call for help.

It boggles my mind how rich you have to be to own a private island and keep up with all the expenses related to supply and whatnot.
Definitely out of reach for the rest of us.

I knew a guy with the shittiest private island. He said it cost him $20,000 USD its in Canada, had enough room for a cabin that was just a shed with a queen mattress in it and a boat dock.
He showed me a video of him trying to enjoy it in summer and it was just CONSTANT heavy winds. He said he had to soundproof the cabin and goes there to read and write. If he wants to feel the wind he has to wear hearing protection and a jacket no matter the time of year.
I never thought I’d feel bad for someone who owns an island. Still first world problems galore, but $20k is very affordable for a piece of land.
Is there actual REQUIRED upkeep though or could you say fuck it, and go ashore with a tent, row boat and the freshwater and food required for a week?
There is if you’re living the luxurious billionaire life
Living in Kentucky, we have a lot of mountainous land that’s kinda useless for anything except hunting and camping.
Not uncommon to know people who bought a few acres out in the hills for the price of a used car and just camp out there. Lots of folks also sell hunting leases to make enough money to cover taxes or pay it off.
That actually sounds really nice
Except for the implications.
I’d like to know who and where in case we go hungry, please and thank you.
Detox policy? Why not detox the entire world?
And that’s how we got rid of smartphone and people with pacemakers.
I rather meant the detoxicating the world by removing millionaires.
That you Ted?
Father Ted?
OK I’m curious. Would I be allowed:
- my blood glucose monitor? (It’s dead weight without a device reading it, but it does have a battery and it’s glued to/pricked into my arm)
- a stand-alone device reading values from it? (Think esp32 with a shitty 1.4" display)
- since I don’t actually own that, my phone for the sole purpose of reading my blood glucose?
Can it run doom?
No :(
A millionaire with a private island? What is this— the 1930’s? You’ve got to be a millionaire just to retire these days, and even then, it’s not a sure bet.
How much could a banana cost, a million dollars??
Produced by Cutco, Knife Monopoly is a cut-throat game of skill and chance where you start as a humble knife salesman looking to build a bleeding edge cutlery empire. Journey across the world, from Damascus to Japan, to steal the secrets of steel while managing a diverse range of assets and allies: iron mines in Nigeria, sales teams in Sacramento, Sicilian hitmen, Nipponese Yakuza, and Bob from HR.
The winner is declared after cornering the worldwide cutlery market and completing the Iron Chef Triathlon with the battle cry:
“AND IT STILL CUTS A TOMATO!”
My go-to late game strat is outsourcing the sales team from Sacramento to the Philippines.
Aha! A man who appreciates Bob’s value - I salute you sir!
Side note, he has 10 points in headhunting, which applies to both your Sicilian hitmen and Nipponese Yakuza in some of the end game action.
From what I have seen of millionaires if they are hunting anyone for sport it is going to have to be very heavily weighted in their favour and even then its a bit too much like work.
it is going to have to be very heavily weighted in their favour
They wouldn’t do it any other way. See: fox hunting.
“Latchkum!!”

I really don’t care for McFarlane but he nailed this show. Hope he does the same for Dungeon Crawler Carl
I call it Knife Game.
You draw a big chalk circle on the ground. Not too big though. Then you and your friends all stand within the circle and can’t leave. Each friend gets a turn to toss the knife up in the air. Knife Game.
Also, Surviving The Game (1994) watch party?
i survived lawn darts and those came down pointy end first. I’ve got better odds against the knife
We used to play stretch when I was younger. Basically two people standing about 6 to 8 ft apart from each other with either a screwdriver or a knife and you throw it at each other’s feet and you have to stretch for it in the first person to fall over or get stabbed loses.
Knife monopoly is when you go around the board and try to collect all the knives.
So far, I appear to be winning.
Braggart.
Pass go and do not collect 200. Go directly to jail and get stabbed.
No u
Some say the most dangerous game is the hunting of man.
I know that it’s Knife Monopoly.
I’m a Death Cribbage fan myself.
I’m the only one with a knife and I can sell it to you for your entire fortune.
I’m wondering if Knife Monopoly is like Five Finger Filet?
