The irony of two ICE agents, one black and one seemingly a Cuban immigrant, racially profiling a black man and cuffing him and carting him off without ever even identifying him because they say he’s an immigrant.
It kills me how often these videos show brown and black ICE agents violating the US Constitution to abduct and beat people for being brown or black. I don’t care how much ICE pays, it’s not worth selling out your own values and everything that was supposed to be good about this country.

Fuck ICE. SS shit.
Brownshirts* They’ll be betrayed eventually, probably once they remove trump to put Vance in.
The only morbidly funny thing out of all this is these black and brown ICE agents’ coworkers are probably all slinging slurs about them behind their backs. They think they’re immune. They’re not, and they will find out sooner or later.
tokens get spent
Yeah, I’ve been called those same slurs and them being used on anyone doesn’t strike me as funny. It’s shit. A whole lot of people and families are hurting for money and ICE is offering a lot of that with zero training or experience.
These people aren’t selling out people like themselves because they think it will keep them safe from anything. Most of them are probably doing it for the same reason any of us work awful jobs.
Their kids were hungry and they had no money, saw a sign, applied half sarcastically, then actually got a job offer back for more than most people in the country make, starting next week.
It’s not people being pieces of shit, it’s starving prisoners ratting on each other’s escape plans to get an extra crust of bread and not starve.
Bunch of BS. I don’t feel bad for ICE agents at all. They could have done literally anything else and made it work, take on two jobs, whatever - but they chose to be a Nazi and to work for Nazis. None of them deserve any sympathy.
They didn’t join because they are desperate, they joined because it matches their fucked up ideologies.
Just another person looking for excuses to hate others instead of caring to try to understand and help anyone different from yourself. That’s sad.
I hate Nazis, and if you have a problem with that, that’s sad.
You’re saying that to someone with the display name “Trump Rapes Kids” who posted this fucking video in the first place. Try to think a little deeper than some meme you read once. Read some philosophy, sociology, and ethics. Learn. Please.
If you think reading, learning, and having an actual educated point of view on sociology and ethics of a situation are the tools of your enemy, you’ve lost the plot.
You missed “history” in your reading list there, friend. Explains a lot.
It’s insane that you folks seem to believe every single person who works for a genocidal regime is doing it because they’re an evil person and it just makes them happy to do evil things. It’s how a child looks at history.
People who do evil things don’t get to use the excuse they were just following orders, because they still did those things. But most people end up signing on because they need stability and an income. It’s a lot harder to whip up a genocidal army in a country with no poverty.
Plenty of people making over 400k/yr are completely horrible human beings, and they aren’t signing on for ICE because it would be a huge drop in their income. Many people living in poverty are mostly decent people and sign on because they feel they have no choice.
Understanding what leads evil groups to grow is sort of important, but if anyone dares say words with more depth and nuance than “I hates nazis!” a horde of people who have a tough time reading many words decide they must be trying to say genocide is alright and start this angsty childish shit.
McDonalds is always hiring.
Acab
No, it’s not. A lot of those places around here have gone to having 2-3 employees and making you do everything through their app before you show up.
If you have to feed your kids you’re willing to do awful shit to manage that if you feel you have no other way. Most parents would rather beat a stranger than tell their kids to grab a few things cause it’s time to walk out the door and be homeless.
Then they can go steal things from the rich instead of murdering strangers for the epstein class.
I at least have respect for criminals. Cops are cucks for the empire.
Acab
Do you have children? Do you think if you suddenly had no income and was about to lose your home with no family to turn to and nowhere to take them you could keep all of your bills paid in a stable manner by stealing from the rich?
It’s really easy to be a keyboard warrior and say all the badass awesome things you’d do to keep your morals in a terrible situation while needing to keep your kids fed and safe and cared for when you have more than enough money to live and no kids in the first place.
I’m sorry but do you? If someone killed you and your family now and said they had to because they were poor would that be acceptable to you? Would you just say no worries mate we all do what’s best for our families.
And again:
I never said any word excusing their actions. Trying to understand a thing is not excusing a thing. Trying to understand what caused a man to stab his kids doesn’t magically make him having done that okay.
I don’t understand what this is. It’s like some weird tribalism. If someone tries to understand what causes normal humans to join and do evil instead of chanting the approved script they get seen as bad.
If you care that a roof collapsed and want to keep that tragedy from reoccurring, you study the schematics and the local environment and weather and capacity and try to understand what caused it so you can design things better in the future. If you want to keep genocidal regimes from growing and try to do the same thing, people now say you’re trying to defend their actions.
How does that make sense to you? When did understanding and nuance and thought on the sociology and psychology behind things become something so many on the left started to see as an enemy?
Understanding is not excusing. Understanding why the roof collapsed doesn’t make it alright that it killed dozens of people. Understanding why a man snapped and stabbed his own children to death doesn’t cause us to go “Aww, it’s okay buddy.” Understanding why people join evil regimes and do evil things doesn’t excuse any of their actions.
But if you actually give a shit about stopping it long term and finding a way to build better and make it less likely to grow and keep happening in the future, understanding is vital.
I’m beginning to think you’re an ICE agent in denial about the fact that you’re committing genocide.
I’m tired of writing responses to everyone, so I’m just going to lazy copy/paste:
I never said any word excusing their actions. Trying to understand a thing is not excusing a thing. Trying to understand what caused a man to stab his kids doesn’t magically make him having done that okay.

YOU are literally the original poster here, of something showing ICE agents not doing anything remotely legal. If there exists a “good” ICE agent out there, they are confirming their visits, knowing and operating within their legal reach, and stopping at least their immediate coworkers from clearly illegal activity. These two are not “just in a bad situation”, they’re garbage people who joined the oppressors to participate in the oppression.
The cruelty of ICE and police is voluntary one, and one that is all too often practiced with glee.
Why do so many of you react with hatred of nuance and thought? Do you think that understanding what drives normal people to be willing to do things like shown in this video doesn’t matter or is somehow bad?
I never said a single word excusing their actions. If you care that groups like this don’t grow and more like it don’t keep forming over time than it’s sort of important to understand how they manage to recruit average normal human beings and push them to act like this.
The bulk of humanity is not just secretly evil. They’re people. They need to pay their bills and feed their kids. They need to afford skyrocketing rent, grocery, and utility prices. Most humans would rather put on a mask and assault a stranger than tell their kids it’s time to go live on the street and hopefully they can find a charity to get a meal sometime in the next day or so.
Understanding that isn’t excusing evil actions. I don’t understand why so many of you are willing to jump in with anger and hate and no thought. Like you said, I posted the fucking video in the first place. I’d think that would give you pause before making this "you’re bad!* response, but it seems that even that didn’t.
Literally you did excuse them, or at the very least attempt to argue that they’re being forced to behave this way under threat of poverty(which is trying to absolve them of reaponsibility, which is definitionally an excuse). This isn’t working at Walmart so you can put food on the table, it’s getting your wage from illegally attacking visible minorities in a million colourful ways. They’re doing that shit for the love of the game.
I’m all for nuance of thought, but clearly no thinking was done so I’m not sure what you’re mad about.
Literally you did excuse them
No, I didn’t.

The problem has never been race. There are idiots of all colors. People need to get over the unimportant and artificial difference of skin color and treat people for who they really are.
Always carry a gun fully loaded ready to shoot federal agents dead in the head
ICE does not have the authority to arrest citizens, and they often violate state, Federal, and local laws along with the Constitution.
Defending yourself and your neighbors against unidentified masked assailants is your right and civic duty. Once people start doing that, Trump will try to use the insurrection act to pull in the actual military to back up his personal army. If that happens it will likely mean a whole lot of people die.
But it’s also very likely that could be the same thing that happens if he loses the midterms badly and decides to try to send ICE to abduct immigrant Democrats in congress. It’s likely it will happen regardless.
Correction, ICE does have arrest authority over citizens if they witness you commit a federal crime just like any other federal law enforcement agent.
Immigration violations are generally a civil matter, not criminal, so it is a common belief that ICE isn’t really law enforcement but just immigration enforcement. The most common image of ICE, pre-trump, was largely a security role at borders and ports of entry and administrative roles in immigration services and serving immigration courts with arrest power limited to immigrants in bad standing. But there is also a wing of ICE dedicated to criminal activity related to immigration like human trafficking, drug smuggling and financial fraud. The criminals in these cases often include citizens, and ICE agents are well within their authority to arrest citizens in these cases.
The post-Trump era ICE has definitely muddied the waters on what is administrative, security, and criminal investigation. And they have lost the plot on their authority and powers, for sure. They need to be dismantled entirely. But it is important to understand the limitations that they are and are not supposed to have, both so you do not underestimate their legal authority and so you can properly call out when they are going beyond their legal authority.
Right… but in this instance it’s just a human standing there being black. That wasn’t a person committing any sort of crime, much less a federal crime. They didn’t ID the person. One of them claimed through his own thick accent that he must be an immigrant, and they abducted him.
Oh I was not justifying this arrest by any means. I was just making sure people weren’t under the impression that being a citizen means ICE can’t legally arrest them and fuck up their lives.
nazis hide with masks,
Cowardly traitors afraid,
They choose violence
Deport immigrant ICE agents to the middle of the ocean. Fuckers probably think they’re immune to their own shit tactics.
Black man racially profiling a black man.
More proof that you must have brain damage to be a conservative.
It’s simple to just say people doing evil things are evil and stupid, but it’s ignoring all of the real factors that cause most people to join up with groups like this.
If you actually care to stop it, and to keep it from happening again with another group in the near future, it’s important to understand what causes average people to join and do things they probably mostly hate at first but which quickly become routine and normal and in escalating severity of atrocity.
edit Guess is just my network and blocky extensions causing my own headache. :)
I have no idea if anyone else can see the video in this post without going to another site. Tried both Streamable and Youtube and both just give me a blank black square with no video on both browsers I’ve tried.
If someone knows a better place to upload videos where putting the video URL into a post here properly plays the video in the post itself please let me know.
___It plays right in my feed on Jerboa.
Thank you for letting me know.
Thank you for letting me know.
I can see it fine shrug
If I understand my history correctly some African tribes would kidnap other tribes people and sold them to salvers. There always people of color that have the mentality that they are different then other POC. Not sure why that is though.
There are always people that have the mentality that they are different than other people
Not sure why that is though
You win the prize. Thank you. For those who don’t understand the racism in selfish fred’s comment:
If I understand my history correctly some African tribes would kidnap other tribes people and sold them to salvers. There always people of color that have the mentality that they are different then other POC. Not sure why that is though.
Translation: “Brown or black, you ni**ers are all the same. You sold yourselves into slavery.”
And the revision here:
There are always people that have the mentality that they are different than other people. Not sure why that is though.
Translation: “I don’t understand why people can’t accept that we’re all the same despite our differences.”
Get fuck never said anything racist just answer fucking question of “why would poc join ICE?” Same fucking thing through out history. There is always someone who thinks they not the same. Just like I met black man in youth who defended the cofendrancy and would use the hard N word against black people and 100% meant it. Never understood that probably never will.
Yes, the thing you said was extremely racist. You not understanding why or how does not change that. Look at your words and then my translation of your words a few times and try to understand why they convey the same meaning to many black people.
You’re doing it again right now. You’re making it an issue of race and not an issue of humans having 8 billion plus different points of view and all being individuals.
I’m blocking you, because my blood pressure can’t handle ignorant racism at the moment.
Do you identify as being in the same group as all other humans who share your skin tone? Do you see it as a major factor in who you are as a person and what group you belong to?
Do you think that in all of history people with your skin tone have never done extremely awful things to other people with that same skin tone?
You might not realize it, but the comment you just made was racist as hell.
What did you go to prison for @abyssian@lemmy.world ?
That seems a bit outside the topic, and is generally asked by people trying to play “gotcha” games. I was charged with Felonious Assault.
You had talked about meeting a guy in prison who molested a sibling and fucked a dog yesterday. Still confused as to why you didn’t stomp him out, but that’s neither here nor there. I meant to ask then but didn’t as to not derail the furry discussion. Then I saw this in my feed. I had a second where I was like, what if this is an American History X situation. Then I wondered if you were initially an anti immigration racist or something like that. Like now you’re really over compensating with the username/posts. I was going on 30ish hours without sleep at the time, my apologies.
Nope. I didn’t assault anyone in the first place. I was just a black guy shopping at a 24 hour store in a nice neighborhood without many black people in it at 2am.
I spent almost a year in a local jail telling my public defender that all he had to do was get my phone that had been taken by the cops and the location data would show I hadn’t actually been where the assault happened.
He didn’t do that. That’s not a public defenders job. They mainly just exist so there’s someone to push the legal paperwork on your side through if you’re not paying someone to defend you and do that. Most of them don’t make any attempt to defend anyone.
At best they might inform the police that you’re claiming evidence exists, but the police, prosecutors, and judges funding and careers are all based on conviction rate for the worst sounding crimes they can manage. If they feel they’re going to get a conviction they’re actively motivated to ignore any evidence that might derail that.
They heavily police people without means to defend themselves, then throw you in jail for months or years threatening you over and over with decades in prison… and then giving you the “good news” that a prosecutor decided to offer a deal and let you walk out the door in another year or even right on the spot if you plead guilty.
Even if you never committed the crime after being stuck in hell for a year and terrified of many more that actually sounds like a gift. So you take it instead of pressing to trial. This is why something like 95% of criminal proceedings in the US end in a plea bargain.
In my case they told me they had charged me with 2 counts and had been threatening me with 16 years in prison, then said if I plead to one count they’d remove the other and sentence me to time served and some early release program that would at least let me be out and working.
I agreed, then when I was in front of the judge had a person I’d never seen in my life come in to give a victim statement on how this evil black man had attacked him and caused him suffering and PTSD. After he read his long speech the judge gave her own on how up until this day I’d lied and said I had no involvement and never once showed remorse for being an evil piece of shit, so the was throwing out the deal and giving me 60 months in prison.
About one week after arriving in the state prison I got a letter telling me I had to show up in person at the police station with my ID to pick up my phone and belongings they had confiscated. No one else could do it for me, and if I failed to show up those things would be auctioned off. The letter was addressed to the prison, so they knew that I couldn’t possibly do that.
By the time I was released Google had deleted my account due to lack of ever logging in for over 5 years. The dreams of proving my location data didn’t match up finally died. Along with access to the entire of my online existence before being arrested, since Steam and emails and logins had all been using 2fa and now I had lost the phone number, the phone, and the email address everything has been set up with.
I didn’t “stomp out” the guy because most of us don’t beat creepy weirdos to death. You meet all sorts of crazy people in prison in the US, but the most shocking thing is most prisoners aren’t. They’re just totally normal people stuck in hell and used as slave labor.
We all hear “guilty until proven innocent” and “reasonable doubt” so many times on TV we somehow still feel like that’s true even when we know they target poor communities to fill for-profit prisons and use inmates as slaves… somehow when we hear a person has a felony we still see them as a bad person almost instinctively.
But odds are they never had a trial of their peers, never had anyone defending them, and definitely never had some CSI team using science magic on every tiny bit of evidence to make sure they were actually guilty. None of those things exist unless you have the money to pay for all those people and labs to do all those things yourself.
Rough story, you have my empathy bud.
