The part you’re missing: we don’t live in a perfect world. We live in this world. The one where crazy men will do crazy shit. Arm yourself or not, those crazy men are among us.
Not all of us live in fear. Statistics are in your favor that almost all of us will never have a gun pulled on us. Carrying your own deadly weapon gives you a higher chance of harming innocents than successfully protecting yourself, and you’re just increasing the likelihood of escalating to someone being killed.
I have a hard time with this story since she clearly did the right thing to defend herself from an aggressor. But someone ended up dead. Permanent. If she did not have the weapon, most likely both would still live and the legal system would be an option

He was mad a Black woman “took his” parking spot. This is Florida. That retired magat thought we had lapsed further into “the good ole days” than we have.
This wasn’t about the spot this was about putting an “inferior race” back in “it’s place”.
Title is misleading, there was a conflict over a parking space which resulted in the guy charging at her despite multiple warnings so she shot
It wasn’t like she gave him 1 warning and shot him either, he pursued and stalked her, while she retreated and repeated her warnings multiple times.
There’s no doubt in my mind that if she had no gun, he would have assaulted her, or worse.
