I think it’s saying you can’t escape Twitter posts being reposted everywhere.

Like this utterly valueless reply from @vincedmonroy, when we could have just had a quote of Marc Ruffalo’s statement from the Oscars, which other commenters have posted.

I’m glad some actors are speaking up, but holy shit it’s taking most of them forever. It’s been a fucking year and you already knew who he was …

That first bit is written really oddly: states some terrible stuff and then says “as much as I love all this” lol

Isn’t these print screens from the nazi-pedophile platform X? People who find it normal to use such platform are the reason why fascism is becoming a reality on the streets as well.

He’s been great in more things than I can count, but I never look for him. I never say “Look, a new Ruffalo movie, let’s check it out,” the way I do for DiCaprio or Gyllenhall, or a few others.

I’ll be changing that somewhat in the future. I probably won’t watch it just because of him, but being in the cast will definitely make me look on the film more favorably.

Did Gyllenhall have some similar political sentiment or is your opinion just based on his past performances? I recognize him when I see him but don’t really see him as a reason to be excited/turned off for a movie.

No, I just never saw him as the sort of actor that demanded much notice. He does fine work, but isn’t remarkable IMO, not like Ruffalo is.

I saw Gyllenhall in a limited Broadway run of Sunday in the Park with George, and he was amazing. He would have easily won the Tony that year, but the production took itself out of contention.

I’ve been a big fan ever since. I’ll go see anything he does.

No, I’m sick of everybody around me caring about other people. I want the entire internet to cater to my personal desire to stick my head in the sand. I’m white, straight, and middle class, so why should I have to hear about any of the bad things happening to poor people?

No, I’m trolling. I’m Lemmy’s first and only left wing troll. I expose people to weakened versions of right wing propaganda to strengthen their bullshit immune systems. Now your mind is better at resisting apoliticism

You need to be more nuanced imo, I don’t think being super obvious will do what you want it to. Appreciate the sentiment anyway

Because people in power often happen to be boomers? You can replace “boomers” with literally any other common denominator and, while still stupid, probably anything would be more accurate - try “men” or “white people”.

Maybe, but boomers willfully sacrificed the long-term survivability of this planet for short-term profit when confronted with climate change, triggered this political hellscape by electing Regan, and have lingered in power for like 50 years. So, Boomers have had an outsized impact.

Hard words coming from a man who once portrayed a power hungry, world wrecking insect in a human suit. I bet he hates Edgar now.
